Dear Carnegie Families,
It is my sincerest pleasure to welcome your child to music class for the 2015-2016 school year! My name is Sarah Buksa, and I will be your child’s music teacher. I graduated from Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and I am a classically trained in clarinet. I am very excited to meet each and every Carnegie Cougar!
I value all types of music, and will be incorporating music from a variety of cultures and traditions in weekly class instruction. Your child will improvise, compose, create, perform, refine, respond, and connect to music in every single class. My hope is that, by the time your child graduates from Carnegie, he or she will be musically literate and have a greater appreciation/acceptance of a variety of musical cultures both domestic and international.
Each week, students should bring the following items to music class:
1. A great attitude
2. Their singing voice
4. Desire to learn
Students in 3-8th grade should bring a notebook and pencil to each class session.
To find what your child will be learning in his or her specific music class, or to learn more about extra-curricular opportunities please visit our music class blog at www.homenote.weebly.com. Feel free to contact me through the blog, the school’s main phone number, or at firstname.lastname@example.org should you have any questions or concerns about your child’s musical journey.
Ms. Sarah Buksa
